Is anyone using Read 180 as a 1 hour supplemental class to a regular ELA class? My students are missing out on so much.
That is how my school uses the program. My 7th graders have a reading and writing class for 110 minutes every day and the 8th graders have it for 55 minutes. They then come to me for 55 minutes of READ 180.
How do you break up the rotations in only 55 minutes? The other teacher and I who teach 180 at our middle school feel the same way, that our students are missing out on way too much Language Arts instruction.
My students have an additional "ELA" class but are missing WAY TOO MUCH! I find myself slipping in grammar, punctuation, and capitalization practice to bridge the gap. There is not nearly enough writing practice.
