DEMO Videos for Universal, Next Generation, System 44, the RI and PI
Share

By this point in your school year, you may be looking for one or more of these helpful videos to enhance your First Three Weeks instruction in the READ 180 Classroom. Even for students who have already had READ 180 last year, it is helpful for them to revisit the software, Reading Inventory, Phonics Inventory and overall structure of your class instruction.

Most of the videos are found on the Video Page here in the Community, but they are somewhat buried.  Below, I have linked the most urgent and informative, and perhaps you might find one you never knew existed.

UNIVERSAL  STUDENT & TEACHER VIDEOS

NEXT GENERATION STUDENT DEMOS

SYSTEM 44 NG DEMOS

  • Phonics Inventory Student Preview (5:40).  This is an invaluable resource to help prepare our lowest readers to take the Phonics Inventory and sets them up so they can do their best

Who should take the PI?
For elementary students, look for Lexiles below 450 and below 650 for secondary students. You also want to look at other factors such as the effort given when taking the RI, standardized test scores, and past teacher insight. Those students reading below those Lexiles often have gaps in their phonics and word building knowledge which can impede a student's reading progress if not corrected.  For more information, check out "Get Hooked on the Phonics Inventory"

  • I am also struggling with getting access. These videos are great to use to help students get motivated and I can't get to them.

I agree with the other comments. Please provide these videos. Read 180 is not a cheap purchase for schools and materials like this are necessary for smooth transitions.

I am disappointed as the Universal videos seem to have been all removed. I used them last year....Does anyone know where they are located now. Very frustrating...Please alert those in charge to release the videos or help us find them. All of these listed are unavailable when you go to this link. Help! I am also having trouble accessing some videos. YouTube says they are private or have been removed.

I am finding I cannot access several of these videos on Youtube-- they have been removed or changed to private. Is there another way to access them? Thank you!
