Read 180 vs System 44

I have spent some time looking through Q&A on the Read 180 Community site. I want to ensure that each student is getting the best program, Read 180 vs. System 44. If I drop the Read 180 license and add System 44, will it be a problem to reinstate when I see the need to return to Read 180? What are the determining factors when placing a student when both programs seem appropriate?

Short answer: If your students are scoring at 400 Lexiles and below for elementary or 600 Lexiles and below for secondary or simply having difficulty decoding, give them the Phonics Inventory.
