Any tips for the Independent Reading rotation ? I'm teaching small group and students are not reading the entire time while at their rotation. Without a teacher at their center they pretend read. I already have a log for responses after they read at the rotation to hold them accountable but it is not helping. I feel like skipping this rotation and build it in some way else. Please help!

Do a search on Independent Reading in the Community Resources. There are many helps there. I posted some ideas a few years that seem to still hold. It is at https://educatorcommunity.hmhco.com/resource/thoughts-on-accountability-in-independent-modeled-reading. The blogs have several articles that are very helpful. I particularly like several written by Debbie Lee. You can choose her in the filter in a blog search. Dee, Ask Dee at the Community

Thank you I will look into those resources.
