When enrolling students in the SRI, why set their reading level initially at Below Grade Level?

I am new to Read180 and I am just wondering why you would do this.

  • This allows students to start the Reading Inventory at an easier level. Students don't frustrate out by beginning at grade level right away, especially if you have students who are reading below or far below grade level.
