Does anyone have experience with using system 44 along with Read 180 universal?

I am just wondering if those students need a different real book?

They use the same Real Book for the Whole Group portion, but will use a different 44 Book for the Small Grpup portion of the class. Dee, Ask Dee at the READ 180 Community

Oops, I thought there was a 44 Book to accompany the Real Book, but I am wrong. I looked to see what to do, and the Real Book has activities attached to it that are appropriate for System 44 students. I would still differentiate more for System 44 students. You can use the formative evaluations to help you determine those differentiate points, but additionally, I would use the System 44 RDI book. I have always recommended using the Self-Monitoring Chart for System 44 to help me. See next . . .

The Self-Monitoring Chart directs the student and the teacher to the appropriate books in the System 44 Library, as well as to the appropriate locations in the Decodable Digest. The Chart also lets you know where the appropriate lessons are in the RDI book. Just keep your System 44 students in the same group(s) to make this easier on them and you. Write me directly at AskDee@sbcglobal.net. We can unpack this futher. Dee, Ask Dee at the READ 180 Community
