For getting stronger classroom participation, I find that the structured engagement routines associated with READ 180 are very valuable. They hold students accountable for classroom discussion and scaffold their work. They are described in the "red" pages at the back of the rBook teacher edition. Also, accountability tools for Modeled and Independent Reading help. Use the QuickWrites, Graphic Organizers, Reading Log, and Reading Counts Quizzes. (1 of 2) Dee

For software work, I like showing students their reports. There is nothing like explaining to students how they are doing by showing them their reports. I like to include the READ 180 Reading Progress Report to show them the average time on the computer. Finally, the Reading Inventory Growth and Progress to College & Career Reports are motivators.
